Jules began his love affair with the guitar in his early teens.  It was at this time he discovered the flamboyant music of Jimi Hendrix - a fellow southpaw.  After learning a few chords on the Spanish guitar, Jules graduated to his first electric guitar - a red Marlin Slammer complete with a Jimmy Page inspired DIY 'Zoso' sticker - and would spend hours locked away in his bedroom trying to recreate the intricacies of blues-based rock guitar listening to Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd albums on repeat.

He took tentative steps into the world of performing live in the late 90's.  He first played at local open mic events, before forming the rock covers band 'No Exit' with fellow local musicians.  Later, he joined and became a key member of Advoc8, a Hampshire based band writing and performing original music.

He played the Surrey & Hampshire pub circuit for several years with these bands, before making the move to a successful function band, in which he performed across the south of England for over ten years.

In 2021 Jules joined The Superpowers - renewing his life-long love with rock guitar.  Here, he enjoys his role in providing creative lead licks and barnstorming solos in great sounding original songs.

Gear Rundown

Jules tends to prefer no nonsense humbucker guitars. He has played a Gordon Smith GS2 on and off for over 30 years, however, with that guitar currently taking time out for refurbishment, his main gigging guitar is a Yamaha Revstar, amplified by a Boss Katana 100 watt Artist amplifier.
